"American Idol 3/20/07" Review

Alright people. I'm in with 40 minutes left in the show. If anyone can tell me what happened in the first 20 minutes, I'd appreciate it.

Stephanie Edwards: "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me"

Report: It wasn't great. It was sung in the same tune the whole time, and it just wasn't there. There isn't actually much to say about this. Boring.
Grade: C- (Yawn.)

Blake Lewis: "Time of the Season"
Report: Good, but I thought the beatboxing was annoying. The singing was good, but I don't know why the judges like the beatboxing so much. Anyone can make stupid sounding noises with their mouth, but apparently, his stupid noises are cool. Whatever.
Grade: B+ (Don't forget the singing is what counts)

LaKisha Jones: "Diamonds Are Forever"
Report: I thought it was a good performance. I don't know what the judges want from her, but when was the last time I actually listened to what the judges had to say. Didn't like when she hit the lower notes, they sounded a bit weird.
Grade: B- (Wasn't as great as last week, but was solid)

Phil Stacey: "Tobacco Road"
Report: Didn't like it. Phil still hasn't picked the right song for his voice yet. The "rocking out" parts were just stupid, and he didn't bring anything new to the table. He'll be safe though.
Grade: D++ (Please do not create a rock album Phil)

Jordin Sparks: "I Love You"
Report: Very good. Her range was amazing, and the song she picked actually kept me awake. One of the best performances of the night.
Grade: A-- (Simon and Ryan's bickering is getting really old)

Sanjaya Malakar: "It Doesn't Matter (It really doesn't matter)"
Report: Wow. Was he just kidding? Was that serious?! Well, I have to give props to Sanjaya on this one. He knows he's not getting through in the competition due to his singing, so he goes crazy on stage, screaming who know's what, but he will get a lot of votes for it. Go Sanjaya!
Grade: A++++ (He is getting votes...)

Gina Glocksen: I missed most of her performance. She didn't sound that good, though.

Chris Sligh: "It Is Not There"
Report: Did that performance make me want to vote for him? No. Waste of time. I don't know why anyone would still want to vote for Chris. He isn't even funny anymore.
Grade: >:(

Melinda Doolittle: "As Long As He Needs Me"
Report: I know this is mean, but her hair and face makeup made her look like an extra from the movie "Planet of the Apes". For her singing, she was the same Melinda.
Grade: A

Overall:
It was a pretty entertaining show; most of the singers sounded good, and the performaces were alright. Performace of the night goes to Sanjaya; he earned like 5 million more votes with that performace. Stinker(s) of the night go to Sligh and Stacey.

I give it a 80 out of 100.
